Wow! I would have much rather watched Being Human's Sam Witwer do a Zombie Black Hawk Down more than anything seen on the ENTIRE last season of @The Walking Dead. It was like 2 episodes got stretched into a season! At least Daryl held it down ears wise. Fantastic news on Darabonts LA Noir show getting picked up by TNT tho!

Grey's Degays and Bisexuals Vanish in a Puff of Logic

On ABC's Grey's Anatomy last week, Calliope Torres played by the amazing Sara Ramirez (above) had a bi moment. She had an awesome sexual experience with a woman, and hours later had an awesome sexual experience with a man. The 2nd awesome led to the heartfelt bi moment, oh me oh my I like both and that's weird (but ok).

At least that's what it seemed like. Perhaps I was being super generous in hoping so and biphobia lurks abouts after all. It seems half of the same sex pairing is getting the boot from the show, and GA show runner Shonda Rhimes is defending said boot with:

"Brooke Smith was obviously not fired for playing a lesbian. Clearly it's not an issue as we have a lesbian character on the show – Calliope Torres. Sara Ramirez is an incredible comedic and dramatic actress and we wanted to be able to play up her magic. Unfortunately, we did not find that the magic and chemistry with Brooke's character would sustain in the long run. The impact of the Callie/Erica relationship will be felt and played out in a story for Callie. I believe it belittles the relationship to simply replace Erica with 'another lesbian.' ONTD! Oh, but you did. Now I'm wondering if Callie sleeping with a man and a woman in 1 day was just the first step in "her journey"...to lesbian. She liked it, and she "liked" it but she's a lesbian character? How much did you just diss the bi community?

Here's some pointers to avoid ending up on The Bi Bitch List:
1) Recognize real life bisexuals like Angelina Jolie exist. Women can love and be with men, women, then men, then women, then women, then men...you get the picture. Unsettling to est. heterosexist rhetoric AND true. You will meet, know, love and care for people who are emotionally and/or sexually attracted to both sexes. They are not anomalies.

Bisexual families look like this too.

2) Avoid the stereotypes. Yes, "both sides of the fence" jokes can be fun, but for those who have no fence it makes little sense and is an offensive ignorance. Many bisexuals are monogamous, partner up and have kids. Some are more free loving and do not. All are separated from lesbians and gays, since they are "bi" and do not see in mono. All are separated from straights in the very same way. So a bisexual is not a 1/2 gay, or 1/4 straight or some mathematical equation that adds up to 1.

3) Check in with bisexual resources and organizations from time to time. Every studio and network flack has the GLAAD bus on call, but bisexuals are plenty sick of being thrown under it. When Transgender characters are written into shows, writers and actors often talk about their learning experiences...'cause they actually met with Transgender folk -- not just their Gay and Lesbian support group.

Have I ever shared that story about the first time I visited Numbers in Weho? Me and my friend, theMVP decided to see if it was as smarmy as folks said. It was. As we drifted past the young guys dining with old guys we happened across Leslie Jordan and a young guy who said: "...well, I know I'm only 18 but I have to make money somehow."

Dear Leslie left that alone as we saw the kid an hour or so later in his platforms sitting dejectedly on the corner of San Vicente and Santa Monica. This in turn reminds me of the time, me and theMVP were venturing into Hollywood for some party or another. On a Sunset Blvd. corner sat a boy at a bus stop. Clean looking fellow, simply dressed and wearing a handmade sign. At first I thought it was one of those "disabled vet with 3 disabled kids on wheels begging for change" signs. It wasn't. The block printed sign said very clearly, "RENT ME". We burst into laughter and decided to go back and ask how much, as a lark of course ;)

Less than 3 mins later we're on the same corner, and "RENT ME" is gone...

Reality Tv Kills Again

Cheryl Kosewicz, a cast member on CBS’ now-canceled Pirate Master, has died as a result of suicide, according to online postings by some of her fellow cast members.

Cast member Nessa posted to the Pirate Master Facebook group on Saturday, writing, “Cheryl was found dead in her home on yesterday from suicide. Her beloved boyfriend had also taken his own life in June. All of the pirates and Cheryls friends and family are shocked and devastated. It is a tragic loss that we all feel very deeply… WE MISS YOU CHERYL, BEAUTIFUL STRONG WOMAN THAT YOU WERE… :( Nessa.”

Early Saturday morning, Joy wrote on her MySpace blog, “my best friend is dead. I immediately scream out in pain and sorrow. Thousands of questions raise in my head. What, Why, When, How? But first I just yell it can’t be not my BIG SISTER CHERL…..The one who was there when I thought I could not make it in Dominica. She believed in me, kept me going when times were rough. Cheryl I am hurting…..hurting so bad because there was so much more I wanted to tell you and do with you.” (In an MSN interview published after she was cut adrift on the show, Cheryl said that she “made a couple friends I’ll have for life,” including Joy.)

Cheryl worked as “a Deputy District Attorney in Reno, NV, focusing on the prosecution of sexual abuse cases,” according to her official CBS bio. Cheryl’s own MySpace page, which she last logged into on Thursday, says her mood is “crushed,” and her profile notes that “the love of my life Ryan O’Neil whom just recently passed away.” In the “About Me” section, she wrote, “Through thick and thin my friends, family and co-workers have been there for me…..even when I refused their help and support. Thank you so much for the support and love. I will forever and always be thankful. Until we meet again……….”

Jasmyne Cannick, who worked with Washington on the Pan African Arts Festival, said she's infuriated ABC booted Washington from the show's upcoming fourth season for calling Knight a "faggot" during a scuffle on the set and believes it smacks of racism. So she's launched a petition - which had 1,233 signatures as of last night - to get the actor his job back.

The petition says Washington's firing "further adds to a disturbing new trend at ABC wherein minority actors have been dismissed at an alarming rate over the past two years. Blacks, including . . . Star Jones ('The View'), Harold Perrineau ('Lost'), Alfre Woodard, Mehcad Brooks and Page Kennedy ('Desperate Housewives') have been let go . . . One must ask themselves, what is going on? . . . While we don't approve of [Washington's] use of the F-word at the Golden Globes, Washington has since apologized and gone on to perform community service by way of a public service announcement for the very organizations that have been orchestrating his dismissal. But it seems it wasn't enough."

I know and have known Jasmyne for years, she's one of the strongest leaders the BlaQue community has. Still I don't agree, I think it odd to separate my identity. I am black and queer, you say faggot we fight. You say nigger we fight.

After years of rumor of I.W's tirades on set, including his altercations with women actors...I wish she'd chosen a better example than him. I stopped listening to Em when he was full of fag words, but because I'm black I'm supposed to take the angry black man's side no matter what? Say it ain't so, say it ain't so!

BONES has done well because of the strength of stand alone episodes. It's one of the few shows you can tune into at any time and still be entertained without need for serious backdrop. It's funny, warm, and nifty science like all at the same time.

In what is believed to be a daytime television first, ABC's struggling afternoon soap will this week introduce a transgender character beginning to make the transition from a man into a woman.

The character, a flamboyant rock star known as Zarf, kisses the lesbian character Bianca in a story line that begins with Thursday's episode.

"All My Children" was looking for something new, and knows its audience is always interested in anything to do with sexuality, said Julie Hanan Carruthers, the show's executive producer.

"After 36 years, you start rehashing," she said. "It's inevitable. We didn't want to fall back on the baby-switch story again."

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and some transgenders were brought in as consultants, teaching the producers when it is appropriate to call a character "she" even before surgery, Carruthers said.

"All My Children's" average audience has slipped from 8.2 million in 1991-'92 to 3.1 million last year, according to Nielsen Media Research.
