Christian Bale, ever the gentleman hero

TBH, this is the best Christian Bale article ever. Forget the lamentations on our dear Heath, this hero of mine continues to shine as a thoughtful artist of monumental grace, charm and talent. Bale was my favorite actor as a child, his work in Empire of the Sun saved my life more than once. Yes, likening my childhood to a WW2 work camp isn't a long shot. The courage depicted was fundamental to my survival, knowing Ballard has made it through something quite terrible. Know knowing that the role helped Bale's family tremendously makes even more karmically cool sense.
Christian Bale, Aug 2008 GQ

"Listen, I am a lucky git. To sit here and say, 'You know what, I don't want to work for the next six months,' and then actually be able to do that? I never imaged I would be in that position. It's luck that I am male; luck that I speak English and luck that I am white. Unfortunately, that's the stereotype in the movie buisness; anyone who isn't any of these things would have had a tougher time than I did. - Christian Bale in the new GQ

Scenes of Heath cut from Batman?

JokerByLJSNUMBERELEVEN
Oh hell NO! I want as much glorious acting as possible, all the fans would. Unless, they use it at the end suggesting the Joker lives on and retire the character out of respect, that I could sob along happily too.

""My secret agent between the Armani suits saw a super private session for The Dark Knight and came out drooling.
"It will be a great success, he guarantees, the gadgets... are crazy and Heath Ledger... delivered, got himself into the role and it's unrecognisable. There will be no other Joker after him."
But the blogger claims audience members were a little taken aback by one scene, select to spoil and read---->) where Ledger's character plays dead "inside a body bag".
He adds, "It caused adverse reactions in the audience, for obvious reasons. It will possibly be cut. (I hope not!)"

HEAAAATH Heath Ledger

"We didn't make [Brokeback Mountain] for any kind of political movement. We never expected to change people's minds. But if it does affect people's hearts, if perceptions can get altered, that's a good thing." - Heath Ledger

It's not often I scream in the midday, but I did when I went casually surfed to people.com to see what Beautiful Brits was up to. And there it was, Heath Ledger. And I scream, a lil scream and then protestations and oh no's and please no, god no. And then ah man that TOTALLY sucks. And then there's this outpouring of grief for an actor who connected to the many. So it with great regret that I post this photo. And a an obligatory repost of Brokeback Blog is below.
AWWWW

GREAT ARTICLE ON WHY BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN SUCCEEDS WITH STR8S

This is why the movie is striking a chord with the non-gay community. Ennis resonates because he reminds us of some part of us. Life has such possibilities, and from lack of courage or weariness or outright fear we allow it to shrink us into this small, sad space doing this small, sad thing. Don't look at my face because you might see who I am. The film does what it's supposed to do. It's specific but it's universal.
