Empire of the Sun is my all-time favorite film. Saw it in the theaters when it came out and it kinda saved my life and led to my ambition as a writer. My childhood wasn't the best, but Ballard made me think I could process it and expand childhood tragedy beyond what happened to me. Anyways, RIP JG!
