"Boondocks" Picked Up for Second Season

Cartoon Network's Adult Swim has greenlit production on a second season of "The Boondocks" from creator Aaron McGruder, based on his comic strip of the same name. His production company, Rebel Base, produces the show in association with Sony Pictures Television.

The show's Nov. 6 debut was the highest-ranked series premiere in Adult Swim's history. On Jan. 10, the show picked up a nomination for Best Comedy Series at the 37th annual NAACP Image Awards. Adult Swim shares channel space with Cartoon Network and airs Saturday - Thursday from 11 p.m. - 6 a.m. ET.
